Yarn Dying today

Today I dyed Cotton yarn with things I found it my house. I used beet juice, blackberries, merrigolds, Iron Oxide, Blue pen ink (red cabbage and vinegar works but I didn't have any red cabbage so... yea), and paprika. Here are some pictures of what I did. It was messy so be prepared for some clean up if you try it.

So that's that, it was fun. I'm hoping to make some green tomorrow and do something with red cabbage.

the reversable tube scarf with matching hat!

I made this one for my boyfriend because he didn't have anything warm to wear. He really likes both the hat and scarf. They are both very warm and great for those hard winters. It was a really easy knit too. I just made two tube scarfs sewed them together and then made two hats and sewed them together. Great project for any beginner looking for something easy but new. I only have pictures of the scarf right now but someday in the future I will post pictures of the hat too.
